Introducing Dalton! He is an energetic, sweet, and loving boy who enjoys outings, such as going to the movies, playing on the playground, and participating in the Special Olympics. Dalton is improving his communication skills, learning new words, and using sign language to assist in his communication due to his Autism Spectrum Disorder. He loves reading books, playing games, swinging, stacking blocks, and stuffed animals and cars. Dalton gets along well with others but benefits from constant supervision and social coaching. He loves being tickled as a reward and enjoys eating crackers, chips, cookies, fruit snacks, and McDonald’s. Dalton needs frequent reminders to stay on task for hygiene and routine activities but is full of giggles and silliness.
Dalton’s forever family will be compassionate and committed, with knowledge of or a willingness to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder. His family will engage him with high-energy play while respecting his limitations and helping him reach his fullest potential. They will take him on outings to grow his social skills and spend one-on-one time to build trust and learn his communication style. Dalton’s family will provide hands-on guidance, utilize resources to help him thrive, and offer unconditional love and support.
